Mid the pines contains the reflections of a small church pastor in Northwest Georgia.

About the Author: Ryan Biese

I’m a graduate of Grove City College (‘Mid the pines in columns growing…) and Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson). During my time at Grove City College, I was part of an unsuccessful effort to prohibit foot traffic on the campus Quad as well as a successful effort to supply double-ply toilet paper to college lavatories.

I wasn’t always a Presbyterian, but came to the Reformed faith during my time at GCC and was nurtured in it by the faithful elders of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church and Ascension Presbytery. During seminary I interned at the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. My first pastorate was in the small town of Winona, Miss at First Presbyterian Church. I now serve as pastor of a church of the same name in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

I’m currently a member of Tennessee Valley Presbytery.

My wife Ann and I have two children and two too many dogs.
