The PCA can have no peace until she contends for purity. The absence of peace in PCA courts is the product of a significant lack of purity; we don't agree on core matters of what it is to be a Reformed Church.
I have a new one for you. One congregation in our Presbytery has "commissioned" a committee of women to "Shepherd" women on behalf of the Session leaving the Session only responsible for the men. How's that pragmatism?
Tell me more. That sounds like some odd mix of patriarchy and radical feminism (which I guess shouldn't surprise us). Also seems like if we did that at the church I serve, my workload would go down significantly...if a woman has an issue, question, or concern, do I just refer her to one of the Shepherdesses?
Sounds like the idea. I think it is based on a parachurch ministry to set up advocacy for wives in abusive marriages. I suppose it could operate in the sphere of diaconal ministry but that is not the way it was pitched.
